A report released by the County Welfare Directors Association complied and analyzed all abuse reports of elder and dependent adults received on a single day in California. The report provides a snapshot of the variety of calls and complexity of issues involved with elder abuse and neglect reports that county APS workers respond to on a daily basis. |

California Department of Justice, Bureau of Medi-Cal Fraud and Elder Abuse
To protect our most vulnerable citizens and help safeguard the state's Medi-Cal program, the Attorney General's Bureau of Medi-Cal Fraud and Elder Abuse works aggressively to investigate and prosecute those who would rob taxpayers of millions of dollars each year and divert scarce health care resources from the needy. The Bureau of Medi-Cal Fraud and Elder Abuse also works aggressively to protect patients in nursing homes and other long-term care facilities from abuse or neglect.
National Center on Elder Abuse
The National Center on Elder Abuse serves as a national resource center dedicated to the prevention of elder mistreatment. The NCEA disseminates elder abuse information to professionals and the public and provides technical assistance and training to states and to community-based organizations. The NCEA makes news and resources available on-line in an easy-to-use format and identifies and provides information about promising practices and interventions. NCEA also provides subject matter expertise on program and policy development.
National Committee for the Prevention of Elder Abuse
An association of researchers, medical practitioners, and advocates dedicated to protecting the safety, security and dignity of America's most vulnerable citizens. It serves as the nation's clearinghouse on information and materials on elder abuse and neglect, including financial abuse, physical abuse, sexual abuse, domestic abuse, psychological abuse, and neglect/self-neglect.
