CWDA Executive Director Frank Mecca will serve as vice chair of the California Budget & Policy Center in 2017. Frank has served on the Budget Center’s Board since 2013. The Budget Center Board elected its new leadership at its December meeting.

The Budget Center’s mission is to engage in independent fiscal and policy analysis and public education with the goal of improving public policies affecting the economic and social well-being of low- and middle-income Californians. CWDA and the Budget Center have a long history of collaborative partnership, ranging from work on educating state policy makers and leaders on the need for a state Earned Income Tax Credit to protecting the social safety net to promoting the need to cut California’s childhood poverty rate.

“I’m honored to serve as vice chair on the board of the California Budget & Policy Center, and greatly value the vision, leadership and collaboration cultivated among Board members and the Budget Center staff,” Frank said. “This upcoming year will bring many challenges for state policy makers and advocates. The invaluable education and collaboration that the Budget Center and CWDA provide will be needed now more than ever.”
