C-IV Receives Grant Funding for Mobile Application

IT Project

Utilizing grant funding from the Food and Nutrition Service, the Statewide Automated Welfare System (SAWS) Consortium-IV (C-IV) has developed Phase 1 of a mobile application that extends the functionality of its C4Yourself web portal to smart phone users who have either iOS or Android operating systems.

Features include: Account Management (account creation and/or logon), County Registration (link to a case), Check Benefits (view CalFresh, CalWORKs, and Medi-Cal benefits), Upload Documents (using the smart phone’s camera or photo gallery), Messages (view messages in a secure inbox), Push Notifications (appointment reminders or missing verifications), and Contact County (provides county contact numbers). Initial language support is for English and Spanish.

The C-IV system supports eligibility workers in 39 California counties who provide services for the following social service programs: California Work Opportunity and Responsibility to Kids (CalWORKs), CalFresh (formerly known as Food Stamps), Medi-Cal, Foster Care, Adoption Assistance Program, Cash Assistance Program for Immigrants (CAPI), Child Care Programs, Emergency Assistance, Employment Services (WtW, FSET), Kinship Guardianship Assistance Program (KinGAP), and Refugee Assistance Program.
