The Child Welfare Services New System (CWS-NS) Project is being developed to improve the ability to serve at-risk children, providing an automated child welfare system with the capabilities that include mobile and web-based technology to support the current and future business practice needs of the counties and the State in a more effective, efficient and economical manner.

Recently, the California Department of Social Services announced a new approach to the project development, and CWDA will be proposing trailer bill language to codify governance and county participation in development of the new system.
